Per brought the Danish version of Monopoly to Karen’s birthday party on Saturday. In “Matador”, the board is round, there are ferries instead of trains, and Tuborg and (very oddly) Coca Cola replace the utilities. The cards are for the most part the same as normal Monopoly, except there’s a special card which gives you 45 thousand kroners – but only if you have less than 15 thousand. I call it the welfare card.
Jan the realtor and I drove around on Saturday and looked at around eight houses. The townhomes in Ballard or Fremont were quite nice. Of the two houses in Magnolia, one was terrible, and the other was okay and had a basement suite that can be rented out. The condo in Queen Anne was okay, but not as cool as the newer townhomes. So far a new townhome in Fremont is the top contender.
