A weekend plus two in the life of jfong:

Saturday: went for a haircut, when asked “how short?”, replied “two inches”, didn’t realise until too late that I should have clarified the remark as “LEAVE two inches BEHIND”. Am now for the third time going to SIGGRAPH with very bad hair, sigh. Went to work, ordered a video card.

Sunday: spent the ‘noon at Berkeley Kite Fest in César Chavez park, enjoyed myself throughly wandering around the beach, munching on greek food and looking at the giant gasbag squid kites. Wish I had bought a camera. Rented some vids, watched Dune - sucked, but at least was pretty true to the book - I think this bodes not well for Lord of the Rings. Learned about GIFs and wrote giflet.

Monday: Licensing breakthrough at work, hooray! Saw Kissed, learned more than I ever wanted to know about embalming (”the trocar - sword of the embalmer!”), decided Molly Parker is the cutest thing ever to walk this earth. Too bad she plays such extreme roles in equally strange movies.

Today: Lots of work. Then a bad, bad, bad Taekwondo work out - I am going to fail that promotion test in two weeks. Then a rude person on the bus on the way back to work, and then two more hours of work. Just got home, it’s now 9:30 pm and I’m typing this up with a bag of frozen peas on my arm. And considering what sort of dinner one can derive from a thawed bag of peas.
